Hanover Township - Muriel Staley, 82, of the Lee Park Section of Hanover Township passed away Thursday evening in Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Kingston on December 10, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Rose (Gregory) Rogers. She was a 1947 graduate of Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and prior to retirement, she worked as a private duty nurse. She was a member of Baptist Tabernacle Church, Hanover Township, where she was active with the women's guild and the prayer group. In addition to her parents, Muriel was preceded in death by her husband Charles, February 5, 2007; son Charles R. Staley; and sister, Marion Shovlin. She is survived by a son, Robert W. Staley and his wife Marianne, Larksville; daughter, Cathirose Perugino and her husband Patrick, Plains; grandchildren, Patrick P., Chardell, Michelle, Bobbie, Charles Reese "CR", Charlene, Luke and Peter; great grandchildren, Sydney, Caden, Mason, Hunter, Kyle, Brandon, Kento and Noah; brother, William G. Rogers, Norwalk, CA; nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday at 10:30 AM in Maple Hill Cemetery Chapel. Kenneth P. Jordan, her pastor will officiate. Anyone wishing to attend can go directly to the cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 PM at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
