Mose L. Gilbert

WINDSOR- Mose Lesene Gilbert, 90, of Lower Windsor Township, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at York Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on May 21, 2016 at Mt. Rose Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Gilbert was born in York on May 9, 1925, the son of the late Mose Edward and Ruth (Mercer) Gilbert. He previously owned a cigar store in West York, worked for Utz Potato Chips, York Container, and the Liberty Club. Mr. Gilbert was a member of 13th Ward Political Club, Liberty Social Club, Hawk’s Gunning Club, and West York VFW. He was a US Navy veteran who served in WWII. Mr. Gilbert leaves four sisters, June Myers, Joyce Mummert, Mae Gilberthorp, and Janice Sewell; two step children Lisa Saylor and her husband Bill, and Catherine Amspacher and her husband Josh; six step great grandchildren; James, Sean, Briana, Eric, Tiffany, and Courtney. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Janet Gilbert, Rudy Woltman, Jean Simmons, Joan Reynolds, and Miriam Hess; two brothers, Jack Gilbert and Bill Gilbert and his companion, Patricia Strausbaugh.
