RED LION- Morris Rittenhouse, 92 passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at Manor Care South. He was the husband to the late Pauline M. (Sipe) Rittenhouse to whom he shared 49 years of marriage. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30AM Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Pastor Ron Heagy officiating, a Moose memorial service will be held prior to the service. A viewing will be held from 9-10:30AM Tuesday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Freysville Zion UM Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on October 13, 1916, a son to the late William H. and Mamie (Young) Rittenhouse, he retired from CRS Radiator in 1979. He was a member with Moose Lodge #148, Freysville Fish and Game, and Sinnemahoning Sportsmen's Association. Mr. Rittenhouse enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an Army Veteran having served in WWII. Mr. Morris is survived by a son, Fred L. Rittenhouse and his companion Darlene Bupp of Red Lion; a daughter Kay F. and her husband Ted Lawyer of Gettysburg; four grandchildren; one grandson; a brother, Walter Rittenhouse of York; and three sisters, Romaine Ness of Dallastown, Margaret Kohler of Dallastown, Charlotte Yohe of Red Lion. He is preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel United Church of Christ Freysville, 1625 Windsor Road, Red Lion, PA 17356.
