YORK- Morris O. Free, 90, of W. Manchester Twp., formerly of Grovetown, GA, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late, Helen M. (Schaeffer) Free. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m., with a Masonic Service on Monday, September 22, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in Yoe Union Cemetery, with full military honors by York County Veteran's Honor Guard. Mr. Free was born in Red Lion on April 9, 1918, a son of the late Harry J. and Mary (Gohn) Free. He retired in 1980 from York International and was a member of Local U.A.W. #1872. Mr. Free was a member of Grand Lodge of Georgia F&AM #730 in Grovetown, GA and a life member of VFW, most recently in Thomasville #7374. He was a Master SGT in the US Army, during WWII and the Korean War, where he served as a medic in the Airborne and retired after 23 years of service. Mr. Free leaves a daughter, Patricia A. Hunt and her husband George of York; three grandchildren: Stephanie Mauzy, Tracey Hufnagle, and Samantha Foltz; six great grandchildren: Dustin, Chandler, Cody, Jenna, Jordan, and Aslynn; and two sisters: Etta Clarkson of York and Peggy Conway of Spring Grove. A great granddaughter, Brandy Lynn Hufnagle, preceded him in death.
