POTTSVILLE - Morgan M. “Butch” Reber Jr., 70, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Friday. Born in Pottsville on March 9, 1942, he was a son of the late Morgan and Sarah Losch Reber. He attended Pottsville High School. On March 18, 1961, he married the former Judith Anne Dougherty, Schuylkill Haven. Until retiring in 2009, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator in construction. Butch was a avid fisher and hunter. He was a life member of the Humane Hose Company, Pottsville. Butch was a member of the South End Field and Stream and the Marion Twp. Rod and Gun Club. In addition to his wife Judith of 51 years, Butch is survived by: a son, Michael J. Reber and his wife Kate, Auburn; two daughters, Robin A. and her husband Russell Wolfe, Jr., Myerstown, and Lisa M. Reber, Schuylkill Haven; four grandchildren, Kyle Allen, Michael Reber, Jr., Hailey Wolfe and Reide Wychunas; 2 great grandchildren, Paris Evely and Kole Allen; five brothers, James Losch, Jonestown, Francis Reber, Minersville, Charles Reber, Minersville, Robert Reber, Pottsville, and Fred Schwartz, Pottsville; nieces and nephews; and his beloved beagle Jazz. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Purcell and a brother Douglas Starr. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 AM from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville. Family and friends may call from 9 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
