Felton—Miriam L. (Beck) Anderson, 73, passed from life to life eternal on Friday, February 13, 2009 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Ray L. Anderson to whom she was married for 51 years. A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Winterstown United Methodist Church, 12184 Winterstown Rd, Felton, with her pastor, the Rev. Ronald S. French officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Anderson was born May 6, 1935 in New Bridgeville, a daughter of the late Elmer and Verna (Shenberger) Beck. She graduated from Red Lion High School with the class of 1953. On December 21, 1957, she married Ray at Shenberger's Chapel in front of the portrait of Jesus, which survived the recent fire. She was a dedicated and loving homemaker to her husband, children and grandchildren. A highly respected member of the Winterstown United Methodist Church community, she was active in women's organizations and missionary work as well as various committees at the church. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Anderson is survived by four children, Kimberly J. Krynock of York, Vincent R. Anderson and Kurt A. Anderson both of Felton and Jennifer L. Anderson of Brooklyn, NY, three grandchildren, Alexander V. Krynock, and Rebekah A. and Elizabeth C. Anderson, two brothers, E. Milton Beck of York, and Ray Beck of Vestal, NY, one sister, Mae Erk of York, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilton, Donald and Gerald Beck and two sisters, Muriel Bacon and Hilda Dietz. Memorial contributions may be made in Miriam's memory to Winterstown United Methodist Church, 12184 Winterstown Rd, Felton, Pa 17322 or by giving the gift of life through blood donation. Floral arrangements may be delivered to Winterstown United Methodist Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the loving and caring staff of the following: Cancer Care Associates of York, Oncology Department of York Hospital and Dallastown Medical Associates.
