Miriam H. (Hursh) Young

York-Miriam H. (Hursh) Young, 91, passed away, October 20, 2010 at Manor Care Health Services-Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late Lester E. Young. A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, October 25, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with her pastor, the Rev. Ron Heagy, officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Freysville Cemetery. Born March 8, 1919 in York, she was a daughter of the late Paul J. Hursh Sr., and Mary E. (Ellse) Hursh. She was employed as a cook with Red Lion School District for many years until her retirement. A member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ-Freysville, she was also a member of York County Farm Women, Order of Eastern Star-Red Lion and AARP. Mrs. Young is survived by two daughters, Nancy A. Zeigler of York and Janet E. Smith of York, 4 grandchildren, 6 six great grandchildren, one brother, Paul J. Hursh Jr., of York, one sister, Anna E. McKinsey of Dallastown and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
