Miriam Arlene Boyce

YORK- Miriam Arlene (Spahr) Boyce,87, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Gardens of Campbelltown in Palmyra. She was the wife of Robert S. Boyce to whom she was married for 63 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with her pastor, The Reverend Courtland Howard officiating. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00-10:00 AM Wednesday at the Funeral Chapel. Born April 25, 1929, a daughter of the late Elmer and Anna (Heagy) Spahr. Miriam was a member of the Second Church of the Brethren since 1960 where she taught 5th and 6th grade Sunday school. She was also a member of the Valley Grange #1360 and the West York Gideon Society. In 1991, Miriam enjoyed a trip to Africa with her family. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Boyce is survived by a son, Stephen Boyce of York; a daughter Marianne Matthews and her husband Joseph of Brunswick, GA; two grandchildren, Amanda Sickler and her husband Andrew of Hershey and Geoffrey Matthews of Brunswick, GA; two great grandchildren, Kennedy and Joyelle Sickler; six nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law. She is preceded in death by her brother, sister, and recently a nephew.
