West York Borough- Miriam Ann (Shultz) Breen, 84, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Breen. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and 9-10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Mrs. Breen was born in West York on January 6, 1926, a daughter of the late Nelson J. and Anna Margaret (Chronister) Shultz. She retired in 1991 from York Graphic Services after 21 years. Mrs. Breen was a 1944 graduate of Dover High School, a life-long member of the Democratic Party, and a life member of West York V.F.W. ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Breen leaves a son, Robert M. Breen and his wife Carla of West York; seven daughters, Kathleen Myers and her husband Wilson of Red Lion; Patricia McCleary and her husband George of West Manchester Twp., Marsha Smith and her husband John of Dover Twp., Mary Street and her husband Leon of Dover Twp., Margaret Messersmith and the late James Messersmith of North York, Bridget Hahn and her husband Brian of West York, and Barbara Myers and her husband William of Red Lion; 29 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 6 great, great grandchildren. She also leaves three sisters, Elberta Sheffer of York, Jane Harleman of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Sandra Wilhide of York. Three sons, Jeffrey L. Breen, Daniel E. Breen, and Thomas F. Breen; and a brother, Nelson E. Shultz preceded her in death. Memorial Contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17402.
