York — Minnie A. (Fake) Barnhart, 85, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at her residence in Spring Garden Township. She was the wife of John J. Barnhart Sr, to whom she was married for 65 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Friday, February 17, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Mr. Curvin Snyder officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-11 AM, Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Freysville Union Cemetery. Born October 29, 1926 in Freysville, she was a daughter of the late Charles N. and Ella M. (Neiman) Fake. She retired in 1992 from Danskin after 31 years of dedicated service. Previously she worked with Blum’s Awning, making tents and other canvas products for use during WWII. A member of Bethany United Methodist Church in York for 65 years, she was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. She loved spending time with her family and they always came first. She enjoyed entertaining the neighborhood kids, liked country and gospel music, dancing, enjoyed trips to the beach and planting flowers in the spring. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Barnhart is also survived by two daughters, Deborah Querry and husband, Art and Ellen Stough and husband, Rick, both of York; one son, John Barnhart of York; five grandchildren, Ellen Kline and husband, Scott of Airville, Arthur Querry Jr, of Red Lion, Michelle Brown of Conewago Township, Jeff Stough and wife, Jean of Abbottstown and Scott Stough and wife, Kristin of Vermont; seven great grandchildren, Darian and Courtney Kline, Zachary and Jacob Brown, twin sisters, Lilly and Paige and Dawson Querry, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Michaela and Mitchell Brown; two brothers, Theodore and Walter Fake and four sisters, Effie Simmons Boyd, Beatrice Barnhart, Anna Bentz and Pauline Bisker Fulton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 1401 Mount Rose Ave., York Pa 17403.
