SPRING GROVE-Milton W. Baker, 90, of Jackson Township, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mikiko M. (Kitasawa) Baker. Mr. Baker was born in Harrisburg on September 12, 1922, the son of the late Milton M. and Vinarda I. (Werner) Baker. He retired as a school teacher from Hanover Public Schools. Following retirement he substitute taught at West York Area School District and Carroll County Public Schools in Maryland. Mr. Baker was a past member of the American Legion and VFW, as well as Pennsylvania State Education Association, National Education Association, and Pennsylvania Association School Retirees. He served in The US Navy during WWII. Mr. Baker leaves three sons, Jack E. Meister of Harrisburg, Michael A. Meister and Byron L. Baker both of Spring Grove; two daughters, Dawna H. Baker of New Cumberland, and Sandra L. Baker of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Laken Hayes of Virginia Beach, VA, Thomas W. Baker, Jr., Dennis Baker, and Nicholas Baker, all of Chelmsford, Mass. He was preceded in death by a son, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas W. Baker, Sr. and a brother, Ronald Baker. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caring Hospice, 780 Eden Road, Suite 3-C, Lancaster, PA 17601 Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting family with the arrangements. Burial will be private in Mount Rose Cemetery.
