YORK TWP. - Millard J. "Paup" Sharp, 88, died on Monday, March 9, 2009. He was the loving husband of Minnie A. "Gummy" (Shaffer) Sharp. The couple had celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on June 26. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a visitation from 1-2 p.m. Burial of ashes will be in Heiland View Cemetery in Red Lion. A Flag Folding Ceremony will be performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Sharp was born March 1, 1921, a son of the late Emanuel D. and Maggie N. (Swords) Sharp. After retiring as a machinist, he worked part time for Weis Market at Queensgate. He served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. Along with his wife, Paup leaves a daughter, Joyce McClane and her husband Tom of Spry; two grandchildren, Jamie and his wife Wendy McClane and Lisa and her husband Mike Stern; six great grandchildren, Travis and his wife Ashley, Kendall, Andrew, Brooke, Shea, and Collin; two sisters, Betty Saylor of Red Lion and Genevieve "Short" Ness of Florida. Two brothers, Elwood Sharp and Ernest Sharp and two sisters, Arlene Huson and Edna Riddle preceded him in death.
