Airville- Millard E. Miller, 87, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane (Fitzpatrick) Miller. The couple married October 9, 1954 and enjoyed 61 years of marriage. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 786 Mt. Olivet Church Rd., Fawn Grove, with his Pastor, Beth R. Holz, officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Born January 28, 1930 in Fawn Grove Township, Millard was a son of the late William Henry and Louella C. (McElwain) Miller. He was a lifelong resident of Lower Chanceford Township. He was owner and operator along with his wife of Miller’s Fuel Supply for 25 years between 1967-1992. Mr. Miller served our country in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Fawn Grove and the Airville Fire Company. He was also a member of the Harrisburg ZEMBO Temple AAONMS, the York County Shrine Club, the Harrisburg Consistory Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, the Red Lion Scottish Rite, and the Friendship Lodge 663 Free & Accepted Masons of Fawn Grove. Millard loved family cookouts, hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, and mowing. After his retirement, he enjoyed transporting his Amish friends. Mr. Miller is survived by three sons, William C. Miller and his wife Patricia of Hanover, David C. Miller and his wife Susan E. of Airville, and John C. Miller and his wife Lisa A. of Windsor; a daughter, Mary E. Snyder and her husband Lynn E. of Airville; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Robert T. Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Millard was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy E. Ashley and two brothers, Walter J. Miller and Paul A. Miller. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 786 Mt. Olivet Church Rd., Fawn Grove, PA 17321.
