TROY- Milford L. Kinsman, 78, of East Troy, PA passed away Monday, July 2, 2007 at Troy Community Hospital following an extended illness. Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, 110 W. Main Street, Troy, PA. Friends will also be received Friday from 12 to 1PM at the East Troy Baptist Church where funeral services will be held at 1PM with Reverend Gary Zuber officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA. He was born in East Smithfield on September 28, 1928 to Meredith and Myrtle Smith Kinsman. He was a 1946 graduate from Troy High school and went on to pursue a successful farming career along with his wife Shirley by his side. He was a member of the east Troy Baptist Church for 60 years where he also served as Trustee. He joined the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau in 1958 and held many leadership posts including County President, Policy Development Chairman, Information Director, Legislative Committee Chairman, Dairy Committee and served on the State Board of Directors from 1994 to 2001. He helped organize efforts to win passage of a number of pieces of legislation beneficial to agriculture. In 2002 he was the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Distinguished Service to Agriculture Honoree and the Bradford County DHIA Distinguished Dairyman Award. Milford was active as a Director for Eastern Milk Producers Coop, Master Farmer Association and the Pennsylvania State Grange. Milford and Shirley Greeno Kinsman were united in marriage on May 27, 1950 having just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Milford is survived by his wife Shirley, daughters; Pamela and Len Haseltine of Orland, ME, Patricia and Leon Weitz of Trenton, NJ, Penny Kinsman of Horseheads, NY, Pearl and Gerard Simonis of Litchfield, PA, sons; Glen and Lisa Marie Kinsman of Ulster, PA, Kim and Dorothy Kinsman of East Troy, PA 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sister; Avis Hartshorn of Phoenixville, PA, Sister-in-law, Dorothy and Ed Austin of East Troy, PA, brothers-in-law, Robert and Shirley Greenough of Big Pond, PA, Donald Sumner of Mifflinburg, PA. He was predeceased by brothers, Duane and Donald Kinsman, sister, Yvonne and grandson, Jacob Simonis. The family suggests memorials and contributions be made to the East Troy Baptist Church or to a charity of one's choice.
