Mildred M. (Elvidge) Stahle

TROY- Mildred M. (Elvidge) Stahle, 80, of Troy, PA passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Lincoln A. Stahle who passed away on April 9, 1993. The couple married May 30, 1952 and had 40 happy years together. Mildred was born on January 17, 1933 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late John and Helen (Dempsey) Elvidge. She worked 20 years for the Troy Community Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide, and was a home health care provider for the Kennedy family of Troy. Mildred was passionate about bowling. She was a member of the Thursday League and helped with youth bowling at Terrace Lanes in Troy. Mildred is a member of the Troy Bowling Hall of Fame. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy. Mildred is survived by her children: Sharon (Charles) Heasley of Gillett, PA, Raymond (Penny) Stahle of Troy, Calvin (Denise) Stahle of Arley, AL, Cathy (Dale) Farley of Arley, AL, David (Patty) Stahle of Houston, AL, and Richard Stahle of Troy, her 17 grandchildren, her 37 great grandchildren, her brother Gary Elvidge of Troy, and her sister Jackie (Carl) Whitehead of Laceyville, PA. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lincoln, her son Kevin L. Stahle, and her brother William Elvidge. Services will be at the convenience of Mildred’s family. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Mildred’s memory to the Youth Bowling Program at Terrace Lanes 195 Weigester Street Troy, PA 16947.
