Mildred L. (Peters) Osgood

TROY- Mildred L. (Peters) Osgood, 95, of Troy Township, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Ivan Osgood who passed away in 1997. The couple married August 8, 1939. Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2013 and again from 10:00-11:00 am on Friday, September 20th at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Mildred’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 20th at the funeral home with Pastors Chris Nauta and Duane Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park. Mildred was born on June 29, 1918 in Troy Township, daughter of the late Solomon and Elizabeth (Ballard) Peters. She was a 1936 graduate of Troy High School and was a 1939 graduate of the Arnot Ogden School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse for the Arnot Ogden Medical Hospital in Elmira, until her retirement in 1980. Mildred was an over 60-year member of the East Troy United Methodist Church. She loved her cats, flowers, puzzles, books, and more than anything else, her family. Mildred is survived by her sons Carl (Cleo) Osgood and Donald (Carol) Osgood, her sister Audrey Porter, her brother-in-law Elwin Roberts, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death my her parents, her stepmother Rebecca Peters, her husband Ivan, her sisters Francis Spencer and Beulah Roberts, her brother Robert Peters, her step sisters Alwilda Wolfe and Sarah Williams, and step brother Aaron Boyce.
