WELLSBURG, N.Y. - Mildred A. Kelley, Age 100, formerly of Belmont, NY and Wellsburg, NY passed away Sunday March 6, 2011 at the Elderwood Tioga Health Care Facility, Waverly, NY. Mildred was born June 5, 1910 in Belmont, NY daughter of the late John and Blanche (Cline) Stark. She was employed for years by Daystrom Furniture Company in Friendship, NY. She attended the Wellsburg United Methodist Church, was a former member of the Wellsburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and Chemung County Fire Department Auxiliary having served as Chaplin for both organizations for many years. She enjoyed making quilts, having made a quilt for each of her children and grandchildren. Mildred will be remembered as a very compassionate and loving person. Her greatest joy in life was helping her family and other people. She enjoyed flowers and her many house plants. For many years she was a great help to her daughter and son-in-law, Dick and Marcy Roberts, in the day to day operation of Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. She is survived by her daughter Marcy (Dick) Roberts of Sayre, PA, grandchildren, Scott (Melanie) Roberts of Singapore, Michelle (Robert) Rowlands of Dallas, PA, John Miller of Apple Valley, CA, Priscilla (Mark) Ditter of Tigard, OR, and Sid (Patty) Miller of Ontario, NY, great-grandchildren, Zachary, Nathan and Isabella Roberts of Singapore, Jesse (Klaudia) and Cody (Julie) Ditter of OR, Melissa, Julie, Benjamin and Landon Miller and Justine Smith of Ontario, NY, special niece Barbara Cronk of Belmont, NY. She was predeceased by her daughter Amy Miller and brother Charles Stark, first husband Ronald Campbell, husbands Martin Deming, Ron Kenyon and Peter Kelley. Family and friends are invited to call at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY Sunday, March 13, 2011 from Noon to 2 PM. Funeral and committal services will be held there following calling hours at 2 PM with Reverend Anne Bey Canfield officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Belmont, NY. Friends wishing may donate to the Wellsburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, P.O. Box 23, Wellsburg, NY 14894.
