Mike (Michael) Joseph Roberts

WELLSBURG- Mike (Michael) Joseph Roberts of Gillett, PA passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre surrounded by close family and friends by his side. Mike was born on December 20, 1954 in Sayre, son of the late Edward C. Roberts, Sr. and Victoria (Shay) Todd of South Carolina. He was employed by Steve Hale of Hale Roofing in Horseheads, NY for over 10 years and truly enjoyed his job as the Roofing Repair Manager. Mike treasured family time with cookouts, holidays and get-togethers, hunting, fishing, pool time, and watching boxing with friends Marty (Holly) Firley and Brian Watts. Mike is survived by his loving companion of 25 years Tina Casselbury of Gillett, his daughters Shannon Woodruff and Ashley (Eric) Shannon, had a special bond and was adored and love by his son Rick Taylor III, his very special little friend and grandson Rickie Taylor IV, his other grandchildren: Kaitlin Wandell, Alisha Wright, Noah Shannon, and Trenton Shannon, his close friends: Walt and Pat Casselbury, Tammy (jim) Ludwig, Mikki (Brian) Cole, Sam (Denise) Casselbury, Paul Meyers, Crystal (Zack) Conklin, Austin Casselbury, Lace Quinn and Sammy Firley. Mike is also survived by his mother Victoria, his brothers: Edward (Kristie) Roberts, Jr., Brian Roberts, Mark Roberts, Eric (Patty) Roberts, and Wayne (Connie) Roberts, his sisters Diane Groves-Tarr and Lynn Malden, along with several nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his father Edward C. Roberts, Sr. who passed away in 1993. Family and friends are welcome to call from 12:00-1:00 pm on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY. The Celebration of Mike’s life will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 6th at the funeral home following the viewing. Burial will follow the service in Chemung Cemetery.
