Michelle J. Potlunas

Michelle J. "Horan" Potlunas, 48, of Pottsville died Saturday morning at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. Born on December 27, 1960, in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph T. and Joan C. Smith Horan. She graduated valedictorian in her class of 1978 from Nativity B.V.M High School. She received her BSW and MSW from Marywood University, Scranton, PA. She worked for Holy Family Home Health and the Pottsville Hospital now Schuylkill Medical Center South Jackson Street as a medical social worker a rehab social worker and and home health social worker until she retired in 2005. Michelle was a member of Saint Patrick Church, of Pottsville. She was also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and A.C.S.W certification. Surviving is her husband of 26 years John F. Potlunas, Pottsville a daughter Michquelena Potlunas, Reading, PA and a sister Katherine A. Horan, OSB, Erie, PA, and several Aunts and Uncles, and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Patrick Church. Family and friends may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. till 10:50 A.M. at the church. Entombment will be at the Calvary Chapel, Hillside, Pottsville. The Family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions to be made to Saint Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, PA 17901. The Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
