Michael W. Strausser

Pottsville- Michael K. Strausser, 25, of Myerstown, PA, formerly of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday as a result of a car accident. Born in Pottsville on March 10, 1985, he was a son of David W. Strausser, of Pottsville, and Katherine D. Long Schuck, wife of James, of Pottsville. Mike was a 2003 graduate of Pottsville High School and a 2005 graduate of McAnn School of Business,Pottsville, with a degree in criminal justice. Mike was a stay at home dad. He loved spending time with his family. He loved the Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Redskins and Nascar. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He enjoyed playing basketball, baseball and football. Mike was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Howard J. Long; his paternal grandfather, Bertram Strausser; his two Aunts, Sandra L. Pucci and Betty Ann Fisher. In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his wife, Lauretta N. Miller Strausser, to whom he married on September 19, 2010 in Virginia Beach; his son, Brady K. Strausser, at home; his daughter, McKenna Wychunas, of Schuylkill Haven ; his sister, Kristen D. Strausser, and her daughter, Layla, of Pottsville; his two brothers, David W. Strausser, and his son Francisco, of Tijuana, Mexico, and Timothy J. Strausser, of Pottsville; his maternal grandmother, Sandy K. Long, of Michigan; his paternal grandmother, Betty Strausser, of Pottsville; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:00 at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Streets, Pottsville. Family and friends may call on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
