Michael T. Pierce

YORK – Michael T. Pierce, 63, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023. He was the husband of the late Rose J. (Gemmill) Pierce.


Born May 29, 1959 in Baltimore, MD; a son of the late Milton and Evelyn June Pierce, he worked in the machining industry for many years. Michael was currently a Machinist Instructor with Jane Addams Resource Corp. in Baltimore. He attended Living Word Community Church for many years and most recently attended Calvary Chapel in York. Mr. Pierce loved playing guitar and singing, spending time outdoors kayaking and hiking, attending Church events, going dancing and roller skating, and spending time with Anthony, Jennifer, and Caleb, as well as his many friends.


Mr. Pierce is survived by a son, Anthony and wife Jennifer Pierce of York; a grandson, Caleb Pierce; two brothers, Dan and wife Sue Pierce of Shrewsbury and Milton and wife Susan Pierce of The Villages, FL; and family in Texas. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Parker.


A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Calvary Chapel, 423 Norway Street, York with Pastor Harry Novak officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Private burial will be in St. John The Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, New Freedom. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Suicide Prevention of York at www.spyork.org or Sparrow Place at www.sparrowplace.org.
