Michael Steven Duguid

Michael Steven Duguid, 70, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at his residence after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease for a number of years. He was the cherished husband of Cathie Anne (Forbes) Duguid. The couple wed on September 7, 1974. Born on December 23, 1950 in East Greenbush, NY, he was a son of the late Thomas M. and Elizabeth (Smith) Duguid. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University and a Master’s of Business Administration from York College. Michael was a Communications Manager at York International, now Johnson Controls, from 1974 until his retirement in 2012. Mr. Duguid volunteered and coached for the West York Boys Club and served on the Board of Directors for the York County Junior Golf Association. He was an avid golfer and lifelong fan who enjoyed sharing that with his sons. Michael and his wife shared a lifetime full of love and dedication to each other. They enjoyed spending time together with family and friends. In the end, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a Gaffer with the birth of his grandson Cooper. Along with his wife, Cathie, Michael leaves two sons, Colin Duguid and his partner, Dawn Helms of Bridgewater, CT and Brendan Duguid and his wife, Erin of Baltimore, MD; grandson, Cooper Duguid; brother, James Duguid and his wife, Janice of Livingston, NJ; sister, Mary Duguid and her husband, Steven Margeotes of Livingston, NJ; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Duguid. The family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care in the last few weeks of Michael’s life. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at a later date to be announced by the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. is assisting with arrangements.
