Michael S. Bohlen

York--Michael S. Bohlen, 23, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at his residence in Springettsbury Township. A Celebration of Life Service will be 7 PM, Friday, December 2, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born December 1, 1992 in Rochester, New York, he was a son of Laura L. Young of York and Scott H. Bohlen and wife, Amy of Mt. Wolf. He was a 2011 graduate of York County School of Technology in the Protective Services program He was employed as a dispatcher with York County 911 for the past 5 years. An avid Philadelphia Eagles and Iowa Hawkeyes Fan, he was also a member of the National Rifle Assoc., and social member of the American Legion—Elizabethtown. He enjoyed his Jeep Wrangler and building guns, but most of all he loved being with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Michael is also survived by, two brothers, Mark A. Bohlen and Blake M. Bohlen, both of York; maternal grandfather, Frank Young of Chambersburg; paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Kathy Orozco of York and Henry and Barb Bohlen of Burlington, IA and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Assoc., 610 Community Way, Lancaster, Pa 17603 or to Team in Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society at pages.teamintraining.org/vtnt/ambbr17/Lyoung. His mother is participating in a fundraising bike ride June of 2017 in memory of Michael's maternal grandmother.
