Michael Robert Shaylor

Shaylor, Michael Robert Age 65 TROY- A joyous reunion is taking place in heaven as Michael joins his parents, Robert and Margaret Shaylor, brothers, Joel and Phillip, and his sister Sara. Born to missionary parents, February 5, 1948 he spent the first 24 years of his life in southern Venezuela. As a teen Michael worked with his Father and brothers hauling supplies up the Orinoco river for the missionaries in the far off villages. He developed strong friendships as he worked along side the natives in the Piaroa village that was located right across the river from his parents jungle home. Later he became a member of the missionary team that initiated the work of the Gospel among the Panare Inidian tribe where today there are many strong churches. After the on-set of diabetes Michael returned to the United States. He worked as a self employed carpenter, and was a part time mail carrier in the Troy area for the United States Post Office. In recent years Michael was active in the Bakerburg Community Church. He received strength from the word of the Lord taught there, and was very blessed by his church family. Rob and Kim Kshir and family became very special to him and the feelings were mutual as they all enjoyed a close relationship. He is survived by his brothers, Dan (Diana) Shaylor of Deltona Florida, Jon (Sue) Shaylor of Elmira, NY; several cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. Michael's quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at Bakerburg Community Church 197 Gray Valley Rd Mainesburg, PA on Friday.
