Michael L. Whiteford

GLEN ROCK - Michael L. Whiteford, 63, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the long time companion and best friend to Donna M. Wise of York. Gravside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Windsor Cemetery. Born September 20, 1946 in York a son of the late Michael Whiteford, Sr. and the late Jeanne L. (Nuttle) Whiteford, he was a 1965 graduate of Dallastown Area High School. Mr. Whiteford had worked as a stationary engineer for Maryland House of Corrections and prior to that for Springfield Hospital Center and York Hospital. He was a member of Glen Rock VFW and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Whiteford was a US Navy veteran, having served on the USS Independence during the Vietnam War. In addition to his companion, Mr. Whiteford is survived by his cousins, Paul, Scott, Bill, Richard, Steve, Kay, and Pat. He was preceded in death by an infant son.
