Michael L. Streavig

STEWARTSTOWN- Michael L. Streavig entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, April 16, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Born November 7, 1955 to Pierce and Phyllis (Sinclair) Streavig. Mike was a 1973 graduate of Dallastown High School. He played football and baseball throughout high school, and his love of sports continued throughout his life. Mike enjoyed baseball, Nascar racing, football on Sundays, and assisted coaching the Felton Mad dog’s baseball team when he wasn’t at his retirement home in Florida. At age 23, he partnered with his brother Jeff at Streavig’s Service Center and gas station, until the sale of the business in 2001. Mike purchased a retirement home in Florida, and spent days doing what he loved: fishing, fixing up his home, and travelling. He also loved going for long rides which usually ended at Dunkin Donuts. Above all else, Mike spent the majority of his life doing God’s work, helping people in need, and nurturing his deep love of Jesus. His trips to Israel fed his foundation in Christ, and he carried those experiences home with him to share with others. Mike spent much of his free time feeding the disadvantaged and homeless, collecting clothing and items for them, and ministering to them. His active outreach stretched from York city to Philadelphia. “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace, I Peter 4:10” Mike was known for his infectious attitude, his humor, and his unfaltering love and unfailing faith in Jesus Christ. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Bert and Mandi Streavig, a grandson, Brandon Streavig, two brothers, Gregory Streavig and his wife Lorna “Cookie”, and Jeff Streavig and his wife Deb, and a host of extended family who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in eternal life by his parents, Pierce and Phyllis Streavig. Memorial contributions may be made to York County Food Bank, 254 West Princess Street, York, PA 17401.
