Michael L. Gleim

YORK- Michael Lee Gleim, 79, died on Monday, March 21, 2022 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Catherine A. (Mowery) Gleim. The couple recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on March 7th. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Pastor Adam Bower officiating. Born on January 25, 1943 in Columbus, OH, he was a son of the late Doyle H. and Doris A. (Winebrenner) Gleim. Michael was the COO for Bon-Ton until his retirement and served on the Board of Directors until 2018. Mr. Gleim was very involved in the community with Leadership York and the York County Food Bank. He was an avid Ohio State fan, boater, swimmer and enjoyed traveling with his wife. Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband, father, brother, friend and mentor. Along with his wife, Catherine, Michael is survived by his son, Timothy S. Gleim and his wife, Cecilia of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Christina Little of York; five grandchildren, Vanessa, Maeghan, Ashley, Connor and Cate; six great grandchildren; and brother, Stephen D. Gleim of Columbus, OH. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Todd Gleim.
