Michael Haugh

Michael Haugh, 61, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Theresa A. (Miller) Haugh to whom he was married for 30 years. A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Red Lion American Legion, 23 East Broadway, Red Lion. A viewing will be held from 5-7:00 PM Monday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with full military honors presented by Dallastown American Legion Honor Guard at 6:30 PM Monday at the Funeral Home. Born July 19, 1955 in York, a son of the late Lou Haugh and the late Clara Louise (Waggoner) and Marvin Workman, he retired from the US Army after 25 years of service. During his military service, Mike earned numerous service and commendation medals along with three Oak Leaf Clusters and three Bronze Stars. Following his military service, Mike was President of CDS Solutions Group, had served as Sr. Information Mission Technologist with SAIC military contractors, and owned and operated Dry Cleaning Station. Mr. Haugh also was the Emergency Management Coordinator for Chanceford Twp. and worked for the Federal Government at Home Land Security as a Specialist in the US Customs and Border Protection Division. He was a life member of Red Lion American Legion where he had served as their Manager and Treasurer; was a life member of Red Lion VFW and Dallastown American Legion; and had served as Commander for Biglerville American Legion. He enjoyed collecting war history memorabilia. In addition to his wife, Mr. Haugh is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. and wife Jennifer Haugh of Cumming, GA; three grandchildren, Derek, Hayden, and Ava; a great grandson, Greyson; three brothers, Robert Lutz of Red Lion, Steven Workman of Lovettsville, VA and Ronald Workman of York; three sisters, Kathy Grove of Stewartstown, Donna Flaharty and Kandy Norris both of Red Lion; an aunt, Nancy McWilliams of Windsor; great nieces and nephews, Rachael Norris, Amanda Bolick, Nathan Workman, and Jen Flaharty; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by Larry Lutz and Ernie Horton. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
