DOVER – Michael E. Strouse, 40, passed away peacefully Wednesday November 6, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Amy M. (Rinehart) Strouse to whom he was married for 12 years. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. Charles Stickley officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Chapel. Born July 1, 1973 in Sunbury, PA, a son of Harry and Nedrale (Ledden) Strouse of Dover, Mike was a 1991 graduate of Dover Area High School and a 1995 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. Mike had a successful career as an Investment Advisor at Main Street Management in Dover, PA and an Implementation Manager at ADP in Owings Mills, MD. While in high school, Mike was on the cross country and baseball teams and earned the distinction as the #1 Baritone in PA. During his time at Penn State, Mike was a member of Lion’s Paw senior honor society and Skull & Bones and served as a Lion Ambassador. He was active in several choirs including Penn State Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Essence of Joy. Mike had the honor of singing in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, and many cathedrals throughout western Europe. Mike was also a member of the PSU Alumni Association. In addition to his wife and parents, Mike is survived by a daughter, Ella M. Strouse at home; two brothers, Jeff and wife Carol Strouse of Northumberland, PA and Stephen and wife Wayzeta Strouse of Manahawkin, NJ; a sister, Brenda and husband Mike Drawbaugh of Dover; his in-laws, Larry and Lois Rinehart of York; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Olivia’s House, 830 S. George Street, York, PA 17403, www.oliviashouse.org. Olivia's House is an organization of caregiving professionals and volunteers committed to supporting grieving children. Its purpose is to facilitate healing through grief and loss education.
