Michael E. Post, Sr.

WRIGHTSVILLE—Michael E. Post, Sr., 82, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at his residence in Hellam Township. He was the husband of Julia A. (Dubetz) Post, beloved wife and soulmate to whom he was married for 58 years. A Graveside Service will be held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born May 2, 1939 in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Edwin L. and Harriet (Helm) Post. In addition to his wife, Mr. Post is also survived by one son, Michael E. Post, Jr., of York; six siblings; his dog, Minky and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sibling. Working along with his wife, he was the business owner of Columbia Construction and WeatherBeaters for many years until his retirement. He previously worked as a fire policeman/policeman in Columbia Borough in the sixties. Following his retirement he was employed as an armed security guard with Schaad Detective Agency. He served in the United States Army, was an avid book reader and well versed on World War I and World War II history. He was a member of the Elks, VFW and both the Columbia Fish and Game and the Susquehanna Fish and Game. Mr. Post enjoyed hunting in PA, several trips to MT and CO, and enjoyed “gaming” in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
