Michael A. Myers

Thomasville—Michael A. Myers, 67, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Susan E. (Flowers) Myers. The couple celebrated 45 years of marriage on May 23rd. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York with his pastor, Rev. Bill Schutt officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8 PM, Monday and 1-2 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born January 30, 1948 in York, he was a son of the late Marlyn E. and Phyllis M. (Miller) Myers. He was employed in the nickel plating department at Caterpillar for 25 plus years until his retirement in 1998. Following his retirement from CAT, he worked part-time with Heffner Funeral Chapels and Crematory, Inc., until 2013. An avid and skilled woodworker, he made many pieces of furniture for his home. He enjoyed hunting, paintings of winter snow scenes, loved being with his family and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in York. In addition to his wife, Mr. Myers is also survived by one daughter, Melissa S. Kahley and her husband, Mark of Dover; one granddaughter, Taryn J. Kahley; one brother, Darrell L. Myers and his wife, Susan of Dallastown; one sister, Marla J. Locke and her husband, Thomas of Dillsburg and nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 N.
