EMIGSVILLE - Merredith Lynnette "Lynne" [Sipe] Pierce, 60, died Sunday, February 10, 2008 at her residence. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday February 15, 2008 at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 2160 Roosevelt Avenue, York with the Rev. Benny B. Ortiz officiating. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 PM Thursday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York and from 9-10:00 AM Friday at the Church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born May 18, 1947 in Reading a daughter of the late Velma Grace Sipe, she worked for the US Postal Service in Lancaster. Prior to that she had worked at William Penn Senior High, Lutheran Social Services, and Stauffer Biscuit Co. Ms. Pierce was a former organist and pianist at Calvary Temple Church and was active with the Aglow group in York. She also was a charter member of White Rose Mother of Twins Club. Ms. Pierce loved to spoil her grandchildren and was a strong supporter of Autism research. Ms. Pierce is survived by her twin daughters, Dorothea L. "Dorie" Reynolds and Dorothy A. "Dottie" Pierce both of York; four grandchildren, Courtney K., Katherine E., and William L. Gibbs III, and Zachariah M. Pierce. She was preceded in death by a half brother, Terrance Sipe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autism Society of America, 7910 Woodmont Avenue, Suite 300, Bethesda, Maryland 20814-3067.
