Greencastle—Merle B. Kopp, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Waynesboro Hospital. He was the husband of the late Effie I. (Dayton) Kopp. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Monday, February 20, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with the Rev. Ky Searcy officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM, Monday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born October 8, 1921 in Spring Grove, he was the son of the late Tempest C. and Clara M. (Beecher) Kopp. He was employed with Thonet Industries in York until his retirement. A member of York Alliance Church where he was a Deacon and taught Sunday school for many years, he also attended Antrim Brethren in Christ Church in Chambersburg. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, enjoyed spending time with his family and reading. Mr. Kopp is survived by one son, David D. Kopp and his wife, Anna Lee of Greencastle; two grandchildren, Christina L. Kopp of Chambersburg and Nathaniel D. Kopp of New Jersey.
