SOUTH RENOVO - Melvin T. Milliron, age 81, died at the Bucktail Medical Center on Tuesday, May 15, 2007. He was born in West Decatur, on May 28, 1925, a son of the late William T. & Alta Mae (Fleck) Milliron. A 1943 graduate of Philipsburg High School, he worked as a heavy equipment operator in the coal mines. Melvin was a member of the Christian Community Church for over ten years. A World War II veteran of the Signal Corps of the United States Army, he was an avid western novel reader, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving is his wife, Geraldine M. (Linberg) Milliron, whom he married on May 13, 1950 in Philipsburg, and his sons Melvin T. (Kathy) Milliron of West Farmington, OH, Carl W. (Cmindy) Milliron of Osceola Mills, and James F. (Diann) Milliron of South Renovo, his brother William Milliron, Jr., of State College, and his sister H. Jean Kent of Brockway. He is also survived by his grandchildren Captain Craig (Meghan) Milliron of Yelm, WA, Cheri (Brian) Anobile of Wheat Ridge, CO, Alisha (Mark) Levinsky of Renovo, Misty Milliron of Boston, MA, James & Becky Milliron of West Farmington, OH, and his great grandchildren Eli Milliron, Caleb Milliron, & Kaylie Levinsky, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Funeral services were held at the Community Christian Church in South Renovo at 10:00 AM, on Friday, May 18, 2007, with Pastor Rusty Blessard officiating. Family and friends were received at the church on Thursday evening, May 17, 2007 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Committal services were held at graveside in the Crown Crest Cemetery in Hyde, PA, on Friday afternoon with full military rites accorded by the Clearfield American Legion Honor Guard. Contributions in Melvin's memory were requested to the Community Christian Church, or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by the Maxwell Funeral Home of Renovo.
