Melvin E. Neff

SEVEN VALLEYS - Melvin E. Neff, 85, passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 at York Hospital. He was the wife of the late Julianna (Horvath) Neff. Funeral services and burial will be private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born August 25, 1924 in Bellefonte, PA a son of the late Mildred L. Benner, he was a retired detective from Baltimore City Police Dept., where he worked for 25 years; and then served another 12 years with Baltimore Gas and Electric when he retired in 1989. Mr. Neff was a member of Loganville Fire Co.; Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 3; Baltimore Retired Police Benevolent Assoc.; and Baltimore Gas and Electric Retirees Assoc. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Neff is survived by a daughter, Janice Robinson of Redwood, NY; and a number of loyal neighbors and friends who loved and cared for him. In lieu of flowers, Melvin asked for memorial contributions to be made to The Pediatric Burn Center at Hopkins Children's Hospital, 600 N. Wolfe St., Harvey 319, Baltimore, MD 21287.
