Melvin B. Stone

DOVER- Melvin B. Stone, 81, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Spirit Trust Lutheran in York. He was the husband of Marie B. (Ross) Stone. The couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on March 15, 2017. A private graveside will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Stone was born in Mechanicsburg on August 1, 1935, the son of the late Lloyd A. and Violet M. (Frank) Stone. He retired in 1997 from the Dover Township Highway Department. Prior to that, he worked as a truck driver. He served in the US Army. Mr. Stone leaves two brothers, Harold (Jenn) Stone of Strinestown and Glenn (Carolyn) Stone of Dover; a sister, Pat (Bill) Reynolds of Dallastown and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd and five sisters, Pearl, Evelyn, Elsie, Jane, and Ethel. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
