Melissa May Susan (Branch) Mccloe

WILKES-BARRE-On October 12, 2010, Our Heavenly Father Jehovah called Melissa May Susan Branch McCloe to glory. She passed away at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Wilkes-Barre on April 24, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Myrtle Wynder-Branch. Melissa married Daniel McCloe in 1940 and from that union, 7 children were born. Melissa became a nurse in 1960 and worked and retired from Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Upon her retirement, she was able to enjoy the things in life that she wasnt able to do while working. Her time was dedicated to her gardening, painting, cooking, and reading, spending time with her grandchildren and visiting her children. She was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovahs Witness, Wilkes-Barre. In addition to her ex-husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Sharon Burgette and June Green; grandsons Anthony Thomas, Travis Burgette and Brian Burgette. Melissa leaves to cherish her memory, a sister, Joyce Carter; daughters Joan Thomas and husband Charles of Willingboro, NJ: her devoted caregiver, Wanda McCloe of Wilkes-Barre; Danette Strader and husband John of Lansdale; Malana Scott of Harrisburg; son Daniel McCloe and wife Sylvia of Wilkes-Barre; 25 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at the Kniffen OMalley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Officiating will be Elder John Danko, The Reverend Shawn Walker and The Reverend Michael Brewster. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Community Care, 601 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston, PA 18704.
