York—May L. (Raffensberger) Campbell, 100, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Manor Care Health Services-South. She was the wife of the late James G. Campbell to whom she was married for 71 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM, Monday, March 21, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Rev. Eric M. Chase officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born November 24, 1915 in York, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Martha (Yaple) Raffensberger. She was employed as a sales clerk with Bear’s Department Store. A member of First Presbyterian Church in York, she was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and the Suburban Garden Club. Mrs. Campbell is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Campbell of New York City and James R. Campbell and his wife, Carolyn of Lancaster; two daughters, Martha M. Spillman of York and Julia E. Watson and her husband, George of York; 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
