YORK Maxine (Milligan) Koontz, 81, died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of Franklin W. Koontz to whom she was married for 23 years. A viewing will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 3-5 p.m. at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Burial will be private at the request of the family. Mrs. Koontz was born April 11, 1930 in Brunswick County, NC. She was a member of the West York Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses where she was very active in door to door ministries. Mrs. Koontz worked as a homemaker most of her life. Her hobbies included sewing and genealogy. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Koontz is survived by two sons, Charles E. Noye and wife Brenda of New Jersey and Danny W. Noye and wife Maria of Williamsburg; two daughters, Maxine Milligan Bredlin of Bedford and Penelope A. Kovalchick of York; 16 grandchildren; 21 Great-grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Beth Dimeo of New Jersey and Shirley Primarschi of North Carolina; four step-sons, Ronald Koontz of Gettysburg, Wayne Koontz and wife Laura of York, Steven Koontz and wife Kathy of Phillippe, WV, and Kevin Koontz and wife Jackie of Thomasville; 7 step grandchildren; 11 step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Edward Noye; a brother, Rudy Milligan; three sisters, Irene Walters, Clara Robinson, and Vernice Hughes; and a great-grandson, David Jonathan Crouch.
