RENOVO - Maurice G. Pork Gentzyel, age 84, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011. He was born in Renovo on July 28, 1926, a son of the late Thomas and Ida (Fye) Gentzyel. He worked as a brakeman for the Pennsylvania Railroad for over 30 years, was a devoted member of the Chapman Twp. Fire Co., serving as president for many years, was an avid hunter, and a member of the American Legion. He served his country in the Air Force during WWII. Pork is survived by his wife: Mildred c. (Probst) Gentzyel, sons: Paul Gentzyel of N. Bend and Steve (Amy) Gentzyel of Muncy, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters: Mary Kleese of Lock Haven, Ruth Woolen of Illinois, Ann (Frank) Kleese of Florida, and Wanda (Kenny) Kepler of Hyner, brothers: David (Kathleen) Gentzyel and Richard Gentzyel both of N. Bend, Harry (Lois) Gentzyel of Lock Haven, Roger (Carol) Gentzyel of Hyner, James Gentzyel of Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son: Randy, three brothers: Tom, John, and Franklin and a sister: Bessie. Funeral services will be held at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23rd with Rev. Robert Pickering officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private family burial will take place in North Bend Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Chapman Twp. Fire Co., 79 Park Ave., North Bend, Pa. 17760. Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo has charge of arrangements.
