Maudie L. Campbell, age 88, of Renovo, went to be with her heavenly Father, surrounded by her loving family, at Bucktail Medical Center on Thursday, November 13, 2008. She was born in Renovo on November 25, 1919, daughter of the late Perry and Maude (Sterner) Mason. Maudie was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker to her family. She also worked for many years at the Renovo Moose Lodge. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and the ladies auxiliary of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Maudie loved puzzle books, was an avid Bingo player, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert J. Campbell Sr. in 1995, a son : Robert J. Campbell Jr., grandson: Edward Glossner, and 5 sisters and 7 brothers. Surviving are her daughters: Patricia Allen of Simpsonville, S. Carolina, Rita (Wayne) Hort of Trout Run, Margaret "Peg" (Ron) Rudy of Danville, and Sue Cannon of Renovo, sons: Thomas "Tom" Campbell, Gary (Chris) Campbell, Frank (Patricia) Campbell, Mark (Debra) Campbell, all of Renovo and David Campbell of Lamar. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, and 9 step great grandchildren, sisters: Shirley Maziarz of Scranton, Lola Hyde of Renovo, a loving niece: Beverly Mason Birney, numerous other nieces and nephews, and her special pet poodle: Camel. Funeral services will be held at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo at 2:00 p.m. Saturday with Mrs. Martha Sykes officiating. Interment will be in North Bend Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from noon until service time. Memorials are requested to the United Methodist Church, Bucktail Medical Center, or the Lock Haven Dialysis Center.
