Maude Agnes (Alexander) Drislane

TROY- Maude Agnes (Alexander) Drislane, 90, of Troy, PA passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Troy Community Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late John Henry Drislane who passed away in March of 1977. The couple married December 15, 1939 and had 38 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA. Burial will be private and at the convenience of Maude’s family in Oak Hill Cemetery, Towanda. Maude was born on July 21, 1920 in Franklin Township, Bradford County, PA, daughter of the late Earl V. and Mertie (Jennings) Alexander. Earlier in her life Maude worked for the Burlington Silk Mill as an Enterer and Twister, and later worked for the Bradford County Manor until she retired in 1985. Her family had a cabin on Kellogg Mountain in Powell, PA where she loved fishing, the outdoors, and cooking for the fishermen and hunters who were with her. She also enjoyed her trips to Canada, gardening, canning, and spending time with her family. Maude is survived by her son Thomas (Anita) Drislane of Troy, her granddaughters Krista Drislane of Elmira and Kate (Joel) Drislane Smith of Sayre, her great grandchildren Grant and Liliana Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews. Maude was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her infant daughter who died at birth, and her siblings: Dora Barrett, Lura Slater, Myra Garland, Faye Alexander, Claude Alexander, Durand Alexander, and Gladys Cole.
