Matthew J. Sachse

YORK – Matthew J. Sachse, 73, died on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Carole A. (Asher) Sachse. The couple had been married for 52 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with Fr. Samuel E. Houser officiating. A viewing will be from 1- 4 p.m. prior to the service, at the funeral home. Mr. Sachse was born April 23, 1939 in Jersey City, NJ, the son of the late Matthew J. and Mary (Gilmore) Sachse. He lived most of his life in Brentwood, NY, and worked as a quality assurance manager for Cincinnati Electronics in joint partnership with Marconi Radio in England, until his retirement in 1994. Mr. Sachse attended St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church. Matthew served his country in the National Guard. He enjoyed traveling, sailing, and collecting model trains. Along with his wife, Carole, Mr. Sachse is survived by two sons, Matthew J. Sachse of Bethlehem and David B. Sachse and his wife, Diane of Hagerstown, MD.
