Mary-Louise L. Gavlock

NORTH BEND - Mary-Louise L. Gavlock, age 43, died at Mt, Nittany Medical Center on Monday, July 19, 2010. She was born in Lock Haven on Feb. 4, 1967, a daughter of Thomas and Portia (Scrimshaw) Poleto of Renovo. She was a member of the Seventh Street United Methodist Church in Renovo, attended Mansfield University, and received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in education from Lock Haven University. She was a dedicated special education teacher in the Keystone Central School District for over 10 years and was a member of the Pa. State Education Assoc. Mary-Louise loved playing softball and fishing, doing cross stitch work, was an avid artist, and lived to go shopping with her mother. Her life was filled with her dedication to her students and spending time with her family. Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Walter M. Gavlock, whom she married in Tamarack on April 20, 1996. Also surviving is her son: Luke Sherry of Sinnemahoning, daughter: Rebecca Gavlock at home, brother: Thomas Poleto Jr. of Renovo, sister: Zena (James) Getz of Ridgeway and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at the Seventh Street United Methodist Church in Renovo at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 with Rev. Robert Pickering officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Private interment will be held at the family's convenience in North Bend Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Seventh Street United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Assoc. Maxwell Funeral Home of Renovo is in charge of the arrangements.
