Renovo - Mary V. (Ellis) Watson, age 97, of Renovo, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Sat. July 21, 2007. She was born in Sterling Run, Pa. on April 16, 1910, daughter of the late Fred and Edith (Caselton) Ellis. Mary was a 1928 graduate of Renovo High School, worked as a laborer at the Sylvania Plant in Emporium, and was very active in all the activities at the Bucktail Medical Center during her stay there. She was an active life member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Renovo, a member of the Elks Ladies auxiliary, and the Lady Bird Democratic Club. Mary was very independent, self-reliant, and energetic, very crafty, loved to do oil and water paintings, could cook up a storm, and everyone loved her cocoanut cream and lemon meringue pies. She enjoyed playing cards, games, and sharing her time to help with things wherever needed. She was a very patient, understanding, and acceptable person. Her entire life was devoted to all her family with an outpouring abundance of love. She is survived by her sons: Russell Lucas and Fred (Carol) Lucas both of Beaver Dams, N.Y., Thomas (Carolyn) Lucas of Cogan Station, Leslie (Cheryl) Lucas of Hyner, and Larry (Donna) Lucas of Waterford, Pa. Also surviving is a stepson: Robert (Helen) Watson of Berwick, 12 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her first husband: Leslie F. Lucas (43 yrs.) in 1979 and her second husband: Harry Watson (13 yrs.) in 1996. Also preceding were brothers Frank and George Ellis, sister Gladys Gyurina, step daughter Eva Helen Watson Calhoun and great granddaughter Mary Grace Werts. Memorial services will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Renovo at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Dee Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in North Bend Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers and request memorials to Trinity Episcopal Church or Bucktail Medical Center. Maxwell Funeral Home of Renovo is in charge of the arrangements.
