WEST YORK- Mary Rose (Janosik) Dunn, passed away on her 95th birthday on Friday February 6, 2015 at Country Meadows @ Trolley Rd. in York. She was the wife of the late Joseph Dunn. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 West Market Street in York. The Reverend Father Thomas R. Hoke will be officiating at the service. Viewing will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery in York. Mrs. Dunn was born in Mocanaqua, PA on February 6, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Spernoga) Janosik. She retired in 1985 from York Garment Company, where she was a seamstress. She was a member of the ILGWU Local #196, and was co-owner of Joe Dunn Shoe Repair, with shops at the Bon-Ton and their West York residence. Mrs. Dunn was a long time volunteer at Colonial Manor as the bingo caller and was one of the original members of White Rose Polka Club. She leaves three daughters, Patricia Egger of Felton, Rosalie Dunn and her husband, Jules Kastantin of Riva, MD, and Mary Ann Williams and her husband, Tom of Mifflinville, PA; four grandsons, Erik Egger, John Williams, Michael Williams, and Mark Kastantin; eight great grandchildren; and two sisters, Katherine Gorash of Mountain Top, PA and Ann Ochinko of Boca Rotan, FL. She also leaves her friend, companion and polka partner, Frank Majewski. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and William Janosik.
