Mary M. (Wallace) Wiley

Dover—Mary M. (Wallace) Wiley, 92, formerly of Wellsville, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Providence Place Retirement Community. She was the wife of Mearl T. Wiley. The couple celebrated 74 years of marriage on March 25, 2013. A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front Street, Lewisberry is in charge of arrangements. Born August 26, 1921 in Conewago Township, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Elsie (Crone) Wallace. She was employed with numerous dress factories, including William Bernstein’s and later retired from the New Oxford Shoe Company of Wellsville in 1987. She enjoyed being “on the go” with her husband and over the years this included going for rides on their motorcycle, drive-in movies with the family and visiting numerous local flea markets. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wiley is survived by two daughters, Gloria Gross and husband, Mearl of Dover and Dorothy Brock of Johnstown; 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and one sister, Betty Shipley of Dover. She was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
