Mary M. (Shirey) Frye

DOVER- Mary M. (Shirey) Frye, 83, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Rest Haven. She was the loving wife of John "Jack" L. Frye, Jr., to whom she was married for 38 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Pastor Todd Witmer officiating. A viewing will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Mrs. Frye was born on December 4, 1926 in York, the daughter of the late Ralph and Anna (Gladfelter) Shirey. Mary worked as a seamstress for South Pine Nightwear and Danskin for many years and was later employed by Lockbox. Mrs. Frye enjoyed playing bingo, cats, Elvis and traveling with her husband, Jack, through the U.S and many places overseas. Along with her husband, Mrs. Frye is survived by twin daughters, Anne Schaale and her husband, Thomas of Felton and Lee Miller and her partner, Joy Thompson of Dover; three grandchildren, Brant Crumbling, Mindi Sier, and Tracy Bollinger; four step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Shirey of Red Lion; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard, Ralph, Charles, and Donald Shirey. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater PA Chapter, 3544 N.
