Mary M. Matthews

DALLASTOWN Mary M. (Dutton) Matthews, 85, died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Cross Keys Village Brethren Home. She was the wife of the late Leonard V. Matthews, Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm Friday, May 13, 2011 at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Pastor Merv Wunderlich officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens following the service. Mary was born April 8, 1926 in Goodwill, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Bruce D. and Mammie C. (Blankenbeckler) Dutton. She was a member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church in Seven Valleys. Mary was also a member of the Seven Valleys Fire Co. Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed camping in Ocean City, Md where she would fish for and eat crabs. She was a deeply devoted mother and grandmother. Family was everything to Mary. Mary is survived by two sons, Leonard V. Matthews, Jr. and companion Crystal of Felton and Daniel S. Matthews and wife Denise of Wrightsville; two daughters, Cathy J. Myers and husband Earl of Dallastown and Jacqueline F. Miller and fianc Joel of Abbottstown; seven grandchildren, Trevor, Gannon and Seth Matthews, Kyle Brose, Bryce and Ryan Miller and Kara Myers; one great-grandson on the way, Jeddin Matthews; a sister Ethel Hicks of York; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Miller and two brothers, Buddy and George Dutton.
