Mary M. (Lovell) Sortman

WILLIAMSPORT - Mary M. (Lovell) Sortman, 72, died on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Gate House. She was married for 42 years to the late Richard M. Sortman, Sr. who had died April 18, 1997. Mary was born on February 26, 1935 in Williamsport and was a daughter of the late Lester and Beatrice (Burget) Lovell. She was a member of the St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Williamsport. She was a dedicated homemaker that enjoyed her family as well as her Siamese cats, and music by Elvis Presley. Mary is survived by one son; Richard M. Sortman, Jr. of Pine Creek, two daughters; Deborah K. "Deb" Lohman of Williamsport and Debra A. Drake of Philadelphia, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one brother; Robert Lovell of Williamsport and one sister; Louise Miller of Williamsport. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers; Sonny Berget, Al Lovell and Jack Lovell and two sisters; Viola Liddic and Betty Lovell. The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. There will be a public viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family suggests that memorial contributions in Mary's memory be made to the Gate House Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
